We oniy ask of you a little preliminary work, to verify objectively (in your own interest as well as ours) how near you come to our problems, and your ability to play a full role in our undertaking (the S.l. does not want mère disciples):

1. Choose for yourself a point which you consider important, in the theses published by the S.l., and develop several arguments and possible expansions of thus theses (a minimum of one page of typescript — we impose no maximum).

2. Choose for yourself, in the same texts published by the S.l., a point which can be criticized, and destroy this position (the conditions are the same).

N.B.—This is not a meaningless game. The S.l. proceeds like this very often, to reexamine and advance on its own basic ideas. Perhaps you will chance on a point already criticized. But you might also start a correct criticism from a position insuficiently raised by us to now. Your criticism, therefore, if it is well done, will be well argued in any case; and perhaps even will be useful as putting forward something new!

Vous voulez adhérer à l’I.S. !

Nous vous demandons seulement un petit travail préalable, pour contrôler objectivement (dans votre intérêt comme dans le nôtre), votre approche réelle de nos problèmes, et votre capacité de participation complète à notre entreprise (L’I.S. ne veut pas de disciples) :

1. Choisissez vous-même un point que vous considérez comme important, dans les thèses publiées par l’I.S., et développez quelques arguments et suites possibles. (Minimum : une page dactylographiée, aucun maximum imposé.)

2. Choisissez vous-même, dans les mêmes textes publiés par l’I.S., un point critiquable, et détruisez cette position (mêmes conditions).

N.B. — Ceci n’est pas un jeu arbitraire. L’I.S. procède couramment ainsi comme réexamen et dépassement de ses propres bases. Vous pouvez tomber sur un point déjà critiqué. Mais aussi bien commencer la juste critique d’une position insuffisamment remise en question par nous jusqu’ici. Votre critique donc, si elle est bien faite, sera en tout cas juste ; et peut-être même utile comme nouveauté !
